I previously worked in health intervention and in health, diet & nutrition journalism, and studied stress management within my degree. So, becoming a Qualified Personal Trainer has been a natural progression for me. I’m so passionate about helping others change their health and fitness for the better because I’ve seen how it has improved my own life.
My own wake-up call came from experience in a different industry, working as a funeral celebrant. Realising that many people spend years in very poor health before their time comes too soon, I started to take my own fitness more seriously. This developed into wanting to encourage and educate others to do so, as well. Fitness improves everyday tasks in every aspect, whilst helping you achieve dreams. In July 2021, I hiked Ben Nevis with ease – a grand achievement for a woman in her mid-age!
My holistic approach includes wellness coaching as well as fitness coaching. Stress, sleep, nutrition, and diet might be looked at within your programme – depending on your goals.
Due to my personal experience, I especially understand some of the challenges faced by absolute beginners, ‘gym phobes’, or older men and women when it comes to starting a fitness and wellness journey. I also understand the issues faced by peri-menopausal and menopausal women.
Being qualified in Exercise Referral, I can work with people who have health conditions like obesity, high cholesterol, osteoporosis, hypertension and arthritis (among others).
There is nothing more rewarding to me than helping people to make healthy changes and seeing them achieve their goals!
